Welcome to the Growing in the Kootenays Guide.

This guide has been created by commercial growers, farmers and backyard growers, to encourage the growing of vegetable in the Kootenays.

To use this guide we recommend that you work through it in the following order:

  1. General information section.
  2. Daylight hours.
  3. Season extension.
  4. Kootenay weather
  5. Growing charts - Make sure you understand the explanation page so you know what you are looking at.
  6. Crop notes.
  7. Fall planting guide.

 

If you notice any errors, or have specific advice relating to a crop that can be incorporated into the guide, please use the email contact form at the bottom to send information to the society.
